Create one horizontal 3:2 editorial image for PetPicto. Side-by-side editorial still life on a neutral warm gray wall. At left, a crisp matte photographic portrait print of a woman with her cream terrier, at right, a visibly hand-brushed oil painting on linen of the same pair and pose. Natural shadows, grazing window light catches impasto, even balance, no hard divider, no labels. Fill the image edge to edge. No words, logos, captions, signatures or watermark.

Start with where the portrait will live

If you want to send the same portrait to three siblings, a digital file is easy to share and print in different sizes. If the gift is one original object, ask an artist about the medium, surface and finished dimensions. A digital image with an oil-painted look still arrives as a file.

What if the only photo is old?

For either approach, identify one or two details that matter most: a white blaze on the forehead, a chipped ear, the shape of a smile. Supply a second view if you have one. With a commissioned painting, discuss those details before the artist starts. With a digital portrait, use them to evaluate the preview. The memorial portrait guide explains how to work from a paper print.
